The nomination period for the Nimiq Community Council has come to a close, and we're excited to introduce the thirteen community members who have stepped forward to serve. These candidates bring diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives to the table, from technical development and network infrastructure to marketing, community building, and creative initiatives.
Over the past two weeks, community members have nominated candidates in the Nimiq Forum, sharing their contributions and commitment to the Nimiq ecosystem. Now it's time for the community to decide who will fill the five seats on the inaugural Nimiq Community Council.
The Candidates
The following bios and “What I’ve done” sections are verbatim submissions from the candidates.
Dov Azencot
Short bio: Developer and entrepreneur passionate about blockchain technology. Creator of NimiqHub and long-term contributor to the Nimiq ecosystem.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Created and maintain NimiqHub, a comprehensive block explorer for the Nimiq network
- Operating the largest validator on Nimiq since the launch of Proof-of-Stake
- Actively supporting network security and decentralization through consistent validator operations
- Met with the Nimiq team in person on various occasions in Germany and Amsterdam
Kaichao
Short bio: Created Keyring hardware wallet and staking service. Local first, p2p, Blockchain developer.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Running Keyring Staking pool since PoS migration.
- Developed a tool to setup Nimiq devnet locally.
- Participated in the zero-knowledge proofs setup ceremony.
- Actively engage in the community discussion, internal testing, and give feedback.
plsenteryournamehere
Short bio: Marketing & UX/UI enthusiast and entrepreneur. Full-time world traveler, multilingual, long-term investor, and idea machine. Some programming background, with a stronger focus on product, branding, and growth.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Part of the Nimiq community since ICO days
- Managing the Nimiq Community X account for ~1.25 years
- Created various Nimiq graphics and video content
- Moderator in Nimiq Traders and the main channel
- Met team members in person worldwide
- Some solid connections with German and Latin American influencers in and outside crypto
Ako
Short Bio: Been a member of the community for 5+ years. Techy, but not quite a programmer. Fluent in English.

Jonathan
Short bio: I've been part of the community since 2020 and did some mining for it when it was still PoW. I work in tech based in the US. I've had a fascination with blockchain tech and Nimiq peaked my interest at the time and still does.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Tested out new Nimiq tech when it rolls out and give feedback
- Educate others on social media about Nimiq and its blockchain tech
- Actively (try to) engage in discussion and present new partnership ideas when I see them
Harley
Short bio: An independent developer who enjoys pursuing new knowledge and creating Nimiq related side projects. Started a career in IT 2017, around the time I discovered the Nimiq project, so have always associated professional growth with thanks to these Nimiq side projects. I was recommended to nominate myself to the council, I am genuinely interested in contributing my experience & assisting with bringing projects into production.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Developed and maintained NimiqLIVE since early 2021, created as a hobby project to increase visibility of the Nimiq project, an attempt to onboard users.
- Worked with Nimiq community members in the past to create projects such a NIM4 & Miqslist (Since discontinued)
- Not incredibly active in public chats, but I moderate Nimiq channels from the sidelines & always up for a chat if you reach out directly
CoinRevolution
Short bio: I have been working as a freelancer in the Web3 space for four years, focusing on marketing, branding, and communication.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Actively served as a Marketing Brand Ambassador
- Helped moderate both the German and international community channels
Paul
Short bio: I'm a french web developer. I've discovered Nimiq in 2019 and tries to build tools / games / use cases with it since then on my spare time.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Designed a T-shirt available in the Nimiq shop
- Contributed 0.10% to the code of Stefan's Nimtris
- Released the Nimiq Game Store where you can buy Steam keys with Nim
- Since discontinued, released Miqslist with Harley
- Developed and maintained Nimiq Vouchers, a website where you could buy gift cards with Nim, now discontinued
- Released Nimworld, a "game" to purchase tiles on a world map
- Released Pixels a few months ago, the "Nimiq r/place" that still waits for your beautiful drawings
Big Mac
Short bio: Discovered crypto and joined the Nimiq community in 2017. Just an average guy with a non-tech background. I think Nimiq needs more sharpness and fire in how it is promoted and would like to see Community Council support for awareness, marketing, and onboarding initiatives.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Memes and comics.
- Active in fostering community discussions and debates. ie: helped facilitate forum discussion about original supply curve vote. Vocal participant in Telegram brawls. Occasionally level criticism at the team when it seems warranted.
- Promotion and onboarding in my own circles and cold contacting various crypto players. ie: privately facilitated contact between Ten31/Celsius Network back in 2021.
- Stealth promotion of NIM(iq) to randos on X.
- Generally spend lots of time thinking about crypto narratives and the nature of value/money and try to keep that as part of the discussion about NIM/Nimiq.
Mike Wille (M!NDBYTE)
Short bio: Full time & part-time self-employed software and systems developer from Germany. With a burning passion for turning wild ideas into real products. Nimiq holder since 2020.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Developing & operating nim.re Blockchain Explorer - which holds extensive data that exceeds the normal availability
- Developing & operating nim.re Staking Pool - third biggest validator by staker count, running since day one of PoS
- Active on Nimiq's channels on Telegram & Discord
- Helped support people with the PoS migration on Telegram & Discord
- Currently working on bringing EVM / Smart Contracts to Nimiq
- Participated in the zero knowledge proofs ceremony
- Writing fun tools for Nimiq (e.g. Nimiq File Upload - which uploads files to the blockchain)
- Closed-beta Nimiq feature testing
- Already reported now-fixed bugs and requested now-added features in the Albatross repository
- Almost made it to the Hackathon in 2025 if there wasn't my inflexible employer at that time haha
- Staking 1.000.000 NIM with 100% contribution on the „Nimiq Marketing Pool", collecting funds for promoting Nimiq
Tobi (Faberto)
Short bio: Developer with a cybersecurity background. Got introduced to Nimiq by one of the founders back in 2017 — that's what got me into blockchain. Been building stuff on Nimiq ever since.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Built a mining pool on the first testnet just to figure out how the chain works
- Ran a public pool on mainnet that did pretty well; the seed node served as a community node for years
- Built an open-source Validator as a Service for PoS — it's ready to go, just waiting for the right moment and some legal stuff to be sorted
- Sometimes I just play around with the chain for fun, like the Nimiq Smart Hoodie
- Was part of the Community Funding Board, bringing technical perspective to proposal evaluations
Serb
Short bio: Chief of production in silicon metal manufacturing, crypto enthusiast, and investor in Nimiq. Technically skilled and strongly committed to the Nimiq ecosystem. I have never sold my Nimiq — I have always been here through both good and bad times, continuously increasing my investment and support.
What they've done for the Nimiq community:
- Member of the community since 2017/2018, starting as a miner. I strongly believe in Nimiq's potential and long-term vision.
- Co-founder of the BalkanMiningPool for Nimiq mining.
- Founder of the Nimiq Balkan Telegram channel; originally initiated the community and currently serving as an administrator.
- Moderator on the Nimiq Trade Telegram channel.
- Official translator and interpreter for the Nimiq team in Serbian, Montenegrin, and Bosnian language.
- Brought many fellow countrymen into the Nimiq Telegram ,X channels and community.
- LCM Serbia.
Koniezcko
Bio: With over a decade of experience in the IT sector, I have spent the last six years as a technical product manager in a R&D department and AI analyst for a US corporation. My passion for emerging technologies drives my involvement in nationally funded R&D projects in AI industry as well as my own Android startup. I have also been a dedicated member of the NIMIQ community for nearly seven years, where I actively strive to support and add value to the ecosystem wherever possible.
What they've done for the NIMIQ community:
- I run second biggest and 0% fee staking pool: $NIM_pool
- As a hobby I try to catch scammers trying to steal NIMs from our community - so far I've managed to ban at least 20 scammers
- I try to provide interesting product solutions related to my industry (AI) and related to my experience in the crypto area (e.g. I proposed a bridge for smart contracts - perhaps in parallel with the team itself, but it confirms that the idea was good)

Voting ends: Friday, March 06, 2026 at 00:00 CET
The election will use ranked-choice voting, allowing you to order candidates by preference. Your voting power equals the NIM balance on your voting address at the final snapshot, including staked NIM. Remember: you don't need to un-stake to vote!

Key Reminders
- Stakers: No need to un-stake. Your voting power includes staked NIM.
- Transaction fee: Voting costs 1 Luna. If your address was staking when voting begins, you'll receive a 2 LUNA top-up.
- Eligible addresses: You must vote from a regular Nimiq address you control (not an exchange or third-party wallet).
- Vote at: nimiq.com/vote
- Change your vote: You can submit another vote from the same address anytime before the final snapshot. Only your last vote counts.
